ZR Production melalui distribusi PROGRESSIVE ROCK SONY (salah satu anak perusahaan dari Sony Music Indonesia) yang dirilis pada tahun 2003 lalu, PURGATORY kembali menghentak dunia Metal Indonesia dengan meluncurkan album terbarunya yang berjudul BEAUTY LIES BENEATH. Pada album ketiga ini, PURGATORY memilih jalur indielabel dengan gabungan dua label bernama GRIM RECORD dan DRAGDOWN RECORD.

Dengan melalui banyak rintangan dan beberapa kali terjadi perubahan formasi, dalam album ketiga terdapat penyempurnaan dalam pembentukan musik dan terdengar lebih matang dan lebih mengeksplorasi nada, seperti halnya pada lagu FRAUD dan ERROR. Masih menyebarkan tema religius seperti pada lirik album-album sebelumnya, dalam BEAUTY LIES BENEATH PURGATORY memberikan pesan kepada umat manusia bahwa sesungguhnya mereka akan kembali kepada ALLAH SWT dan amat tak terhitung nilainya. Seperti dalam lagu yang berjudul 55:13 yang dikutip dari Al-Quran pada surat Ar-Rahman ayat 13 yang berbunyi “maka nikmat Tuhan kamu yang manakah yang kamu dustakan?” (Then which favours of God will you deny?).Pada album ini terdapat lagu yang berjudul Downfall: The Battle of Uhud yang merupakan single pertama dan pernah masuk dalam album kompilasi The Art of Metal produksi Alfa Records bersama Shadows Fall, lacuna Coil, napalm Death, Step Forward, Load, dll. Lagu ini bercerita tentang perang uhud yang terjadi pada zaman ke-khalifah-an Rasulullah SAW dimana keserakahan dan ke-tidak ta’at-an bisa menjadi sumber kekalahan yang fatal dalam hidup kita.
BEAUTY LIES BENEATH berisi lagu-lagu yang soundnya berbeda dengan album 7:172 dan gemuruh musik yang disajikan lebih mudah dicerna oleh masyarakat yang kurang mengenal warna musik metal sekalipun.
Sentuhan atmospheric-samples juga lebih sering terdengar pada lagu-lagu yang ada dialbum ini, salah satu lagu andalan PURGATORY dengan judul Inside You yang menjadi OST Gerbang 13 pada tahun 2005 silam diberikan sebagai bonus track (remastered version) dan bukan hanya musik-musik berdistrosi saja kita sajikan pada album ini, tapi PURGATORY juga menyguhkan accoustic track Hypocrite yang merupakan accoustic version dari Hipocrishit dari album 7:172.
